FIVE Minutes to a Calmer Home ⏰

Hello!

Can we be honest with each other for a second? Between the busier schedules, the travel, and all the fun summer events, my own house has felt a little more ‘lived in’ than usual lately. Shoes by the door, mail on the counter... you know the drill. Summer just has a different energy, doesn't it?

That's exactly what inspired this week's episode.

Summer connects to the fire element in Feng Shui: high energy, constant motion, in and out the door. It makes total sense that our homes start to feel a little chaotic this time of year. So this week I'm sharing five simple, doable ways to regain control, no big remodel or overwhelming reset required.

This week, try this: pick just one zone in your home, the counter, the entry, the closet, whatever pokes at your mood the most, and start there. That's it. That's the whole assignment.

Before you go, I've got a little gift for you! One of the simplest ways to shift the energy of your home is by refreshing your front door - the "mouth of chi," or the place where new opportunities and energy enter your space. I put together a free guide featuring my favorite Sherwin Williams paint colors and the intention each one supports. If you've been thinking about giving your home a little energetic refresh, I hope you'll download it and enjoy!

Hello! I'm still riding high from last weekend. My hometown library invited me back to speak about the book. Two of my elementary school teachers were there, some family, and my very first friend ever, Wendy, surprised me in the crowd. We grew up riding bikes back and forth between each other's houses, and I hadn't seen her in years. I left with the kind of warm feeling that stays with you for days. This week's episode is a little different, I reached back into the mailbag and answered three...

Greetings! Confession: I have a stack of storage bins sitting in my bathroom right now that don't fit on the shelf I bought them for. I saw them at the store, thought "these are cute and I clearly need bins," and bought them without ever actually measuring the space. Classic. So when I sat down to record this week's episode with Julianna Strickland of Space Camp Home Organizing, and she said the number one mistake people make is buying organizational products before they've measured, sorted,...

Hello! I started this week's episode of Feng Shui Living a little differently than usual, with a story that illustrates just how much our surroundings matter. I'd just come from one of those walk-in lab places...you know, the ones where you go to get blood drawn and then you're on your way. Except this one was... a lot. Nine people crammed into what I can only describe as a closet. Three chairs. No music. Beige walls. A room full of cranky people who were absolutely feeding off each other's...
