Organizing for Calm

Hello!

I love it when a conversation on the podcast validates something I already believe in my bones. This week's guest, Ashley Murphy, co-founder of NEAT Method, did exactly that.

Ashley started as an in-home personal trainer, and one day she noticed something...her client's disorganized kitchen wasn't just an eyesore. It was quietly working against everything they were trying to accomplish together. That observation grew into a company that's now in over 100 markets.

We got into why the kitchen (not the closet, not the garage) tends to hold the most stress in a home, and why she tells people not to buy a single bin or basket until they've done one simple thing first.

This week, try this: Before you organize anything, just walk the space. Open every drawer and cabinet you use daily and notice how far you have to reach or walk to put something away. That alone will tell you where to start.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it.

Warmly, Lisa Morton

Organizing for Calm: A Wellness-First Approach to Your Home with Ashley Murphy of NEAT Method

Season 3 Episode 51

In this episode of Feng Shui Living, we’re exploring the powerful connection between our physical spaces and the way we feel in our everyday lives. Ashley Murphy, co-founder and CEO of NEAT Method, joins us to share why clutter and disorganization can quietly create stress, why the kitchen is often the biggest source of tension in a home, and how simple shifts in the way we organize and think about our spaces can help our homes work for us instead of against us.

Hello! My friend Kate reached out this morning. Her oldest daughter is heading off to her first year of college this fall, and I could tell Kate was feeling both excited for her and a little unsteady about the shift ahead. It felt like perfect timing for this episode to land. If you're navigating that same kind of transition, I'd love to help you find some grounding. I have a few free 15-minute discovery calls open this week — reach out and let's talk. This week's episode is five quick, easy...

Hello! Big news first: the Aligned Sanctuary retreat is officially sold out. We filled all eight spots in just three weeks, and I’m still a little stunned by how quickly it happened. If you applied and haven’t heard back yet, don’t count yourself out...life happens, plans shift, and I’ll be working through a waitlist if any spots open. You can still apply on the website under the retreat tab. And if you’re on that list when September rolls around, you’ll get first access to the next one...

Hello! Can we be honest with each other for a second? Between the busier schedules, the travel, and all the fun summer events, my own house has felt a little more ‘lived in’ than usual lately. Shoes by the door, mail on the counter... you know the drill. Summer just has a different energy, doesn't it? That's exactly what inspired this week's episode. Summer connects to the fire element in Feng Shui: high energy, constant motion, in and out the door. It makes total sense that our homes start...
